The To-Read Year — New Cairo

This month at Reading After Work, we’re starting The To-Read Year — a shared community ritual where we choose the books we hope to read throughout the year.

At every January gathering, attendees will share there book list they want to read this year. Each book is turned into a mini book and placed into our Community Reading Bowl.

By the end of January, the bowl will hold our collective To-Read list.

Throughout the year, whenever someone finishes one of these books, they can quietly claim its mini book during any Reading After Work gathering. Over time, the bowl empties — as our minds fill up. 📖

No deadlines. No pressure.

Just reading, slowly and together.

What to Expect:

• Cozy welcome & settling in

• Three reading sessions (20 minutes each)

• Short breaks between sessions

• Sharing 2026 reading intentions (optional)

• Reflection & casual networking

• Participation in the Community Reading Bowl
